Bespoke lead generation service for digital, creative & marketing agencies

Outsource your outbound sales prospecting to someone with 15-years’ experience building 7-figure agency pipelines

About me

In 2007 I started my own digital agency as a one-man band, building it over 10-years into a successful digital agency, which I then sold.

I then worked as a consultant and mentor to over 30 owners of digital, creative and marketing agencies, helping them to grow faster.

Now I offer a fully outsourced lead generation service to creative, digital and marketing agencies, allowing them to benefit from my 14+ years of experience generating $millions in agency new business revenue.

The challenges for agency owners and new business development…

It’s unlikely you want to do lead-gen outreach yourself. It’s time-consuming, laborious, often soul-destroying. Few people have time to do it with the consistency and persistence needed to make it successful.

Most attempts to employ someone to do it in-house fail, because someone with the seniority and experience to do it well typically doesn’t want to deal with the donkey work involved.

And someone junior often doesn’t have the credibility or experience to make such campaigns effective.

Some try a lead-gen / new business agency…

Generic lead-generation agencies rarely fare any better. They don’t get the specific nature of agency new business - and their model is often on-boarding large numbers of clients into software-driven processes, rather than the type of personal, bespoke approach needed in order to be successful.

So outbound prospecting goes neglected - you fall back on a reliance on referrals and recommendations, which always puts a ceiling on your rate of growth.

This is the gap I fill with my solution for agency outreach prospecting…

What’s included…

- Consultancy and advice on targeting and messaging

- Sourcing of all data: email addresses & Linkedin profiles

- Creation of outbound messaging

- Individual approaches to each prospect with a sequence of messages to get you noticed, generating opportunities straight in to your sales pipeline.

I will run your entire sales outreach strategy for you.

  • What I offer is the opportunity for you to outsource this service for less than it’d cost to employ even a junior person in-house.

  • To ensure the job actually gets done consistently and intensively.

  • And for it to be done by someone with years of experience building $1-million+ sales pipelines for his own - and others’ - agency businesses.

Frequently asked questions…

  • Ideally yes, lead-generation works best when given time to build momentum, but I’m confident my process works well enough that people will stick with it because it’s working for them, not because I’ve locked them in to a long-term commitment.

Within a month, you’ll have a good sense as to whether your pipeline is filling up with opportunities. If for any reason you feel it’s not working out for you, you’re free to walk away - no hard feelings!

  • Typically email and Linkedin. Predominantly email because that’s how you can reach the highest volume of prospects in the quickest time. Linkedin is good once we’ve maxed out the email route and want to diversify the approach.

  • In my other line of work as a business growth consultant, I help agencies establish multi-channel marketing strategies - including everything from content marketing to events, podcasting, public speaking and much more.

It’s always preferable to have a wider-ranging marketing strategy and, for those who do, outbound prospecting plugs perfectly in to it, helping to get your reputation-building content and activity in front of a large, relevant audience very rapidly.

For those who have no other marketing strategy, outbound prospecting is the best channel to start with. It’s the ‘quickest win’ to build a sales pipeline rapidly whilst you ideally build a multi-channel marketing strategy to support it longer-term

  • Having run literally hundreds of them for myself and others, I get to spot the patterns of those which are more successful than others. One key ingredient is segmentation and differentiation.

Agencies with a clearly-defined niche proposition do well. For those which don’t have that, we can create the appearance of one through segmentation and targeting.

Another key ingredient is a highly personal approach. Recipients of cold prospecting messages need to feel like they’re the only person you’re targeting - and that you’re an ordinary human being approaching them personally. No sales jargon, no hints that you’re making the same approach to others, no bulk email broadcasts.

  • Virtually every agency owner I’ve spoken to about this subject has said almost exactly the same thing. “We employed someone but they were pretty useless”… “We used xxx lead-gen agency and got nothing from it”…

There’s no point me trying to pull the wool over your eyes and suggest you’re guaranteed of success with me. We both know no form of marketing can be guaranteed. But you can increase the odds of success in your favour, by using a process and tactics which have proven successful repeatedly for businesses very similar to yours, which is what I have here.

And if you find yourself in the small minority of cases where it doesn’t prove successful, your risk is limited and capped at a pre-agreed maximum spend, with an immediate get-out for you.

  • I don’t think size particularly matters. My smallest client is a one-person business, my largest has 150+ staff. Size doesn’t seem to be an indicator of success, as long as the target audience is aligned to the nature of your agency, which I’ll help to ensure is the case.

I’ve run lead-gen campaigns for digital (development and marketing), creative, video, social and PR agencies. These are my speciality. They are the only types of business I work with.

  • It’d be a bit of an obvious sales tactic to say ‘places are limited so act fast’ but the bespoke nature of these campaigns - and the fact it’s me doing them, not a team of people - means I’m naturally limited to the number I can manage at any one time, so there may be a waiting list depending on my current workload

  • I ran my own digital agency for 10-years. It started in my bedroom at home and, at our largest, grew to a team of about 20, before I sold the business. I have literally done your job, so I know the challenges you face and demands that are placed on you.

And after I sold my business, I spent almost four years working with 30+ other agencies as a consultant and mentor, which has given me amazing insight in to the most-successful agency new business strategies.

Having helped so many different agencies with their sales and marketing, I get to see the patterns that exist amongst those which succeed - and I can apply that insight to the campaigns I’ll run for you.
